I promised I would show the final result of the name cushion project that started as an afternoon doodle on a piece of blank paper. You can use the doodle (I can call it a pattern now that I have tested it!) here.
I’m really happy with the final result! The fabric is from the April Showers range by Bonnie and Camille.
I’m no expert in applique, so I’m particularly happy with how the letters turned out. I used the vliesofix fusible web, and a machine blanket stitch in a matching thread colour. If you’ve never used it before, try this tutorial from Little Birdie Quilting Studio.
I used a zipper along the back, and that seemed to work really well, too.
Nice and easy, and finished in the time between child’s bedtime and my bedtime!
I hope your cushion projects turn out wonderfully.
